Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place submitted through a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Marshall County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and manage the exchange. Messages remain within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause the server to receive standard technical and usage details:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure traffic patterns, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics services combine that usage data. A browser can refuse cookies, though some functions may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a submitted query to the appropriate outside search provider
- Maintain site operation, speed, and reliability
- Find and repair technical faults
- Measure which resources visitors use
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Marshall County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general access information for the sheriff, local courts, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not turned into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by the provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. The provider controls retention and disclosure practices, so review its terms before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, law-enforcement offices, Tennessee agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. After leaving this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs through the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers receiving a query submitted through their tool
- Advertising networks serving content on the pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices protect collected data. No internet system can guarantee absolute security, so a breach cannot be ruled out despite those safeguards.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be deleted upon a valid request.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Tennessee consumer-protection law, including the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act at T.C.A. §§ 47-18-101 through 47-18-132, may provide rights or remedies depending on the circumstances. A visitor may:
- Request access to personal data held about them
- Seek correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask for deletion where the law permits it
- Decline certain processing where an applicable right exists
